Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Titans were there to profit. Germie Bernard, the No. 58 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 4 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If Moore pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 12 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. A clean fit for the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Denzel Boston went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Emmanuel Pregnon at the Round 2 slot is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Derrick Moore in the 63rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They let Emmanuel McNeil-Warren come to them and pounced at pick 66. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They robbed the room for Keionte Scott here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Sam Roush at slot 92 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
A running back of that caliber at the 95th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Germie Bernard at Round 4, Pick 1 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Logan Jones at pick 112 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Circle this one: Skyler Bell at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nice patience on Oscar Delp, who had no business lasting to slot 142. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Chris McClellan at par in No. 144, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Trey Moore in the 152nd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in the 163rd pick, where Charles Demmings graded well above the range. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kevin Coleman Jr. at pick No. 174. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value with a capital V on Ar'maj Reed-Adams in the 180th overall pick, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in pick 184, with Aamil Wagner worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Caleb Douglas at No. 194 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy little value on J'Mari Taylor in slot 196, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A clean, defensible pick in the 225th pick with a little surplus value in Thaddeus Dixon. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
