The Derrick Moore selection is the head-turner. The 49ers reached 39 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Parker II falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The 49ers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
They talked themselves into Derrick Moore at slot 27, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had Brian Parker II higher than the Round 4 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Bishop Fitzgerald slipping to the 133rd pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They took Hezekiah Masses at par in pick 138, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid up for Kaytron Allen at Round 4, Pick 39 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
DeMonte Capehart in the 140th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Barion Brown. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
