The tape said wait; the Titans did not. Deven Eastern went at the 257th pick, a good 28 picks before the board was ready. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Dunker.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 4 they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Denzel Boston in the 35th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
They read the board right and Gennings Dunker was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 2. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Logan Jones in pick 101 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A tidy little value on Eli Raridon in the 142nd pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Kaytron Allen in pick No. 144 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nothing to complain about; Domani Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
VJ Payne slid further than he should have, and pick No. 209 is lovely value for the safety. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Robert Spears-Jennings at No. 225 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A real head-scratcher, Deven Eastern in slot 257 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
