For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Oladapo value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Every board in the league had Wilson lower, and that gap is the story.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Payton Wilson at the 41st overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor itch, scratched.
Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at pick 88 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kris Abrams-Draine is a better player than slot 91 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid a round early for Roger Rosengarten in pick No. 126, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kitan Oladapo at Round 5, Pick 33 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A conviction pick on Nathaniel Watson at the 202nd pick that the board grades a round light. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Trevin Wallace at the 219th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
