The trade table was where it all came apart. The Eagles shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Moore proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They banked enough surplus on Lemon to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a rangy last line of defense. A real need, handled.
The board had Makai Lemon higher than pick No. 24, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A real head-scratcher, Derrick Moore in the 39th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Eli Stowers at par in pick 54, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
