For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The 49ers walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
The Zuhn III pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Gennings Dunker at Round 2, Pick 26 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Julian Neal at the 127th pick is the proof. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Bishop Fitzgerald is a better player than slot 133 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 138. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in pick 139, with Joe Royer worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
