The Rams did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Josh Cameron fell into the 232nd overall pick. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Reaching for Bowry left real value on the table behind him. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get an island corner at fair value. More want than need.
A.J. Haulcy is a better player than No. 61 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jude Bowry in pick 93 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Cole Payton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Josh Cameron in Round 7, Pick 16 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Robert Henry Jr. at slot 251 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nice patience on Andre Fuller, who had no business lasting to the 252nd overall pick. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
