Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The 49ers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. The 49ers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Gennings Dunker in the 58th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Jakobe Thomas in slot 133; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Parker Brailsford in the 138th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Caleb Douglas in pick No. 167 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
