Thirty-one other rooms let Christen Miller slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at Round 3, Pick 20. Highway robbery. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The cost of the Reiger reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Somehow Omar Cooper Jr. was still sitting there in slot 59, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The roster fit checks out.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 20 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They barely believed it either: Mike Washington Jr. still on the board at the 99th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in the 106th pick, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Treydan Stukes in No. 120 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They reached into another round for Mason Reiger, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They read the board right and Charles Demmings was the payoff at pick No. 160. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had cheaper options than Keagen Trost at pick 167, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Taylen Green slid further than he should have, and No. 201 is lovely value for the quarterback. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
John Michael Gyllenborg is a better player than the Round 7 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Andre Fuller at Round 7, Pick 39 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
