More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

The Keilan Robinson pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 55 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Wallace where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 27
In the 25th pick they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
Edgerrin Cooper at the 41st overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Bralen Trice · DE-EDGE · rank 63
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bralen Trice. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Renardo Green · S · rank 77
Renardo Green slipping to Round 3, Pick 25 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
No edge and no loss on Christian Mahogany in slot 91; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
Roger Rosengarten in No. 126 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 188
A real head-scratcher, Tanor Bortolini in the 169th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 213
A conviction pick on Nathaniel Watson at pick 202 that the board grades a round light. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Kimani Vidal · RB · rank 253
Kimani Vidal at Round 6, Pick 44 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
They read the board right and Trevin Wallace was the payoff at slot 245. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Keilan Robinson · RB · rank 310
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Keilan Robinson well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
