You could see the war room lean forward. Nicholas Singleton at No. 133 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The Iheanachor pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They liked LT Overton enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 2, Pick 26. A need, and now a little less of one.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 127 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nicholas Singleton in pick No. 133 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They read the board right and Will Lee III was the payoff at No. 138. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Justin Joly slid further than he should have, and the 139th pick is lovely value for the tight end. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
