Boards are made to be trusted, and the Bears shredded theirs for Kalil Alexander. He came off 55 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get juice off the edge, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Fair-plus on Chase Bisontis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Keyron Crawford in Round 2, Pick 28, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Caden Curry in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Ja'Kobi Lane at slot 129 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Kalil Alexander at the 239th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Thaddeus Dixon in pick 241 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
