The Browns spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Aaron Anderson, the No. 180 name on the board, in pick No. 206. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
If Coleman pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Fair-plus on Brandon Cisse, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jonah Coleman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Jude Bowry at pick 107, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A premium they did not need to pay, Drew Allar a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris McClellan in the 149th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Aaron Anderson was still sitting there in No. 206, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Isaiah Nwokobia in the 248th pick, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
