The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named quarterback, a need the Cardinals walked right past.
On value alone, Haulcy makes the weekend a net positive. They are betting Schrauth proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd pick they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Colton Hood at pick 34 is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
A quiet steal in the Round 3 slot: A.J. Haulcy for less than the market said. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Billy Schrauth at the 104th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on DeMonte Capehart in No. 143, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nice patience on Cyrus Allen, who had no business lasting to Round 6, Pick 2. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jimmy Rolder a notch or two before his time. It fills a real need, too.
