Call it larceny. Keagen Trost sat on the board until the Round 6 slot, and the Falcons did not need to be asked twice.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Perkins Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
Chris Bell in pick No. 48 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Keionte Scott in slot 79. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Harold Perkins Jr. at the 122nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 215th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Brandon Cleveland in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
