When a board-topper like Ephesians Prysock slides to Round 7, Pick 6, you do not overthink it, and the Lions did not.
The Kamara reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 17th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Caleb Tiernan in the 50th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A quiet steal in Round 4, Pick 18: Brian Parker II for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Mikail Kamara. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good price on Jaeden Roberts in No. 157, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kevin Coleman Jr. in slot 181 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 205 with a little surplus value in VJ Payne. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Landon Robinson. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Ephesians Prysock at No. 222 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
