You build a draft on nights like this. Moose Muhammad III had no business being available in the 187th pick, and the Falcons did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Every board in the league had Lindberg lower, and that gap is the story.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 9th pick they get a disruptor off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
No drama and no debate, Xavier Worthy went about where he belonged in the 41st overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 9, with Quinn Ewers worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Blake Fisher at pick No. 109 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 5 slot, where Shemar Turner graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Moose Muhammad III in slot 187 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Roger Rosengarten in pick 206 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They read the board right and Dwight McGlothern was the payoff at No. 230. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Chad Lindberg at pick 249 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
