Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Commanders.

The Tyreak Sapp selection is the head-turner. The Commanders reached 62 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Montgomery.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge. A real need, handled.
Tyreak Sapp in pick No. 71 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dametrious Crownover in No. 154. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Lander Barton at the 187th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A wild overpay on George Gumbs Jr. in pick 209, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
A real head-scratcher, Eric O'Neill in the 211th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They read the board right and Tyren Montgomery was the payoff at No. 223. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
