The search is over. The Jets handed the keys to Ty Simpson, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Landing Kitselman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The cost of the Height reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In slot 16 they get the arm they will build around. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They talked themselves into Romello Height at No. 44, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Skyler Bell at pick No. 103 is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid a round early for Taurean York in the 108th overall pick, more than the board wanted. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Isaiah World in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Eric Rivers in the 179th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Thaddeus Dixon at Round 7, Pick 12 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
