Somebody in pick 66 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Titans sat still while Anthony Hill Jr., the No. 38 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Herron has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Colton Hood in the 35th overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Steal is underselling it; Anthony Hill Jr. at pick No. 66 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ja'Kobi Lane at the 101st pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Oscar Delp at No. 142 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Fair-plus on Jakobe Thomas, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Aaron Graves in slot 184 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Seth McGowan graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Alan Herron at No. 225 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
