The rest of the league will want that one back. De'Corian Clark tumbling to the Eagles in pick 243 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Capehart reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick-by-Pick
Olumuyiwa Fashanu slipping to slot 24 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nice patience on Kool-Aid McKinstry, who had no business lasting to pick No. 31. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a wide receiver like Troy Franklin reach No. 62 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Brian Thomas Jr. at pick 65 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Circle this one: Ja'Tavion Sanders at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Trey Benson is a better player than Round 3, Pick 24 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
They barely believed it either: Josh Newton still on the board at the 91st pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Davis at the 94th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
