The one they had to fix is still broken. The Eagles left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
If Barrett pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 3 of 9 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Calen Bullock at Round 2, Pick 18 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 54th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A reach on Khyree Jackson in No. 97; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jaylin Simpson at the 160th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Dadrion Taylor-Demerson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
A real head-scratcher, Michael Barrett in pick No. 171 is miles ahead of his ranking. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
They took Delmar Glaze at par in pick 178, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Daequan Hardy in Round 7, Pick 20 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
