The Cardinals spent real capital to be 94 picks early on David Walker, and the board is going to hold them to it. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
If Armand Membou and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 16 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Alfred Collins in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
David Walker at pick 78 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Tommi Hill at pick No. 114 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They paid a round early for Xavier Scott in the 153rd pick, more than the board wanted. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
