Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Cardinals, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
However the rest shakes out, Winston Jr. at that price is a win they earned. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Dart has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
In the 16th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value. A real need, handled.
A reach for Jaxson Dart in pick No. 47; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Tate Ratledge at pick 78 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They did well to land Chris Paul Jr. in the 92nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Tez Johnson in Round 4, Pick 13 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Kevin Winston Jr. was still sitting there in the 153rd pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
