The Membou pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Hit on Mike Green and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th overall pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Armand Membou in pick No. 47, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Alfred Collins went about where he belonged in the 57th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Chris Paul Jr. at slot 113 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
