After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Smith falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Reaching for Guerendo left real value on the table behind him.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Ladd McConkey at No. 34 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No edge and no loss on Patrick Paul in the 68th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
They talked themselves into Isaac Guerendo at pick 103, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Justin Eboigbe in pick No. 137 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jaheim Bell slipping to the Round 6 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Tykee Smith here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jaden Crumedy at Round 7, Pick 11 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
