Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Falcons were there to profit. Germie Bernard, the No. 59 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 79. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Elliott has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Keith Abney II at pick 48 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Germie Bernard in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A premium they did not need to pay, DeMonte Capehart a notch or two before his time. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Keyshaun Elliott enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 197. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled TJ Hall all the way to the 231st pick, and they scooped it up. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Jaydn Ott in the 236th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
