The real work happened on the phones. The Titans fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
Everette falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Titans clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 4 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value.
A straight-up fair deal on Gennings Dunker at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Daylen Everette in pick 101 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value with a capital V on Justin Joly in No. 129, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, CJ Daniels in slot 142. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jakobe Thomas at Round 5, Pick 4 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nice patience on Seth McGowan, who had no business lasting to pick 184. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
David Gusta at No. 194 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They let Thaddeus Dixon come to them and pounced at pick No. 225. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
