Green Bay Packers

No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

Hard to follow the map here. The Packers bypassed quarterback, wide receiver and other spots to take Javon Bullard at the 57th pick, a spot they had covered. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Davis makes the weekend a net positive.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 33
Kamren Kinchens at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 63
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots to take Javon Bullard, a safety that was not the priority.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 80
They read the board right and Mike Sainristil was the payoff at the 88th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Cade Stover · TE-EDGE · rank 93
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went TE-EDGE with Cade Stover while clear needs at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots sat open.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 124
No edge and no loss on Jarrian Jones in the 126th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 163
Jaylen Wright at No. 168 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 190
Isaiah Davis at pick 203 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 213
Jordan Magee in Round 6, Pick 41 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 246
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Steele Chambers. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Trevor Keegan · OG · rank 251
They took Trevor Keegan at par in No. 251, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
