Every other box got a look, but cornerback did not. The Cowboys will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.
They are betting Davis proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Hit on Keon Coleman and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 30th pick they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper in the 56th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 9 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach for Tyler Davis in slot 87; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
A straight-up fair deal on Justin Eboigbe at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaiah Davis. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jalen Green at pick 212 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor itch, scratched.
