The R.J. Oben selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 152 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
Mondon Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.
The Cowboys paired the rookies with proven help, Henry To'oTo'o leading the way.
Bottom line, with Emeka Egbuka leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at the 45th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Circle this one: Omarion Hampton at pick 76 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 4, Pick 14 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Shemar Turner at pick No. 148 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They reached a country mile for Ty Hamilton at No. 150, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
A conviction pick on Connor Colby at slot 168 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
