Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys cashed the board's mistake on Bech: B+.

by Dalaw · 2025 NFL Draft · 11 picks · 11 steals · 0 reaches

Future B

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Jack Bech slide 181 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.14 · Pick 14 · Travis Hunter · CB · rank 1
In pick No. 14 they get a lockdown presence outside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Ashton Jeanty · RB · rank 2
You do not let a running back like Ashton Jeanty reach No. 44 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Cam Ward · QB · rank 6
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Cam Ward in Round 3, Pick 12, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.15 · Pick 117 · Armand Membou · OT · rank 11
Armand Membou at the 117th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.11 · Pick 149 · Jahdae Barron · CB · rank 14
Somehow Jahdae Barron was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 20
The board fumbled Walter Nolen all the way to pick 171, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.36 · Pick 174 · Tre Harris · WR · rank 60
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 174th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.28 · Pick 204 · T.J. Sanders · DT · rank 40
Circle this one: T.J. Sanders at slot 204 is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
R6.35 · Pick 211 · Josaiah Stewart · DE-EDGE · rank 52
They robbed the room for Josaiah Stewart here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
R7.23 · Pick 239 · Demetrius Knight Jr. · LB · rank 59
Steal is underselling it; Demetrius Knight Jr. at No. 239 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.31 · Pick 247 · Jack Bech · WR · rank 66
They will replay Jack Bech at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
