Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Commanders came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. With wide receiver, tight end and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on OLB-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, reach and all.
Javon Bullard at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Zak Zinter in pick 100 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went OLB-EDGE with Javon Solomon while clear needs at wide receiver, tight end and other spots sat open.
Kamal Hadden at pick No. 141 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Josh Proctor in the 181st pick, and that is fine. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Good price on J.J. Weaver in No. 223, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
