There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Nazir Stackhouse, 122 picks ahead of schedule. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Royals. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th pick they get a bendy edge with upside, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jalen Milroe at the 47th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They reached a country mile for Nazir Stackhouse at No. 78, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They will replay Jalen Royals at Round 4, Pick 13 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Circle this one: Ajani Cornelius at pick No. 153 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
