There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bills took Kaleb Elarms-Orr a full 50 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
On value alone, Demmings makes the weekend a net positive. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with linebacker the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 26 they get a double-digit-sack hope, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Bryce Lance at slot 91 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A wild overpay on Kaleb Elarms-Orr in the Round 4 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nice patience on Charles Demmings, who had no business lasting to pick 165. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Bobby Jamison-Travis at the 168th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They talked themselves into Harrison Wallace III at the 182nd pick, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach for Lander Barton in the 220th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
