Thirty-one other rooms let Michael Taaffe slide, and the Bills were the ones holding the card at the Round 3 slot. Highway robbery. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Elarms-Orr has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Michael Taaffe at slot 91 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kaleb Proctor at the 126th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Beau Stephens in Round 5, Pick 25 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They went early on Kaleb Elarms-Orr in pick No. 168, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Josh Cameron in No. 182 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
TJ Hall at the Round 7 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor need, but a need all the same.
