The rest of the league will want that one back. Max Melton tumbling to the Packers in the Round 4 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Kamren Kinchens in No. 41 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They let Kalen King come to them and pounced at pick 57. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 25, with Christian Mahogany worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Malachi Corley in slot 91. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nice patience on Tyrice Knight, who had no business lasting to pick No. 125. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They robbed the room for Max Melton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kimani Vidal at the 203rd overall pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Miyan Williams at pick 217 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kenny Logan Jr. at slot 219 is the proof. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Nathaniel Watson in Round 7, Pick 26 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
