The Bears went off the board in a big way for Sam M'Pemba, 210 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Hunter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A reach for Dillon Thieneman in the 25th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board had Lee Hunter higher than slot 57, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Jake Golday in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Treydan Stukes in pick 89 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jaeden Roberts in the 129th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Tyler Onyedim in No. 239 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
