You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Ward at the 228th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A to show for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Braden Smith deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.

You do not let a linebacker like Deontae Lawson reach pick 144 and blink. They did not. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Devin Neal at pick No. 216 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Sonny Styles at the 218th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quarterback of that caliber at the 228th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
