There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for David Ugwoegbu, 85 picks ahead of schedule. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Rosengarten steal is the beam this whole class leans on. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a No. 1 receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Steal is underselling it; Amarius Mims at pick No. 56 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy little value on Blake Corum in No. 87, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Roger Rosengarten at Round 5, Pick 38 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 216th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nathaniel Watson in the 233rd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: David Ugwoegbu in the 244th pick, miles early. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
