The Commanders did not so much draft Hunter Nourzad as overpay for him, 32 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

That Jones pick is the receipt they will wave around later. It is not that Stover is a bad player; it is that the Commanders had louder needs to answer first.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
