You could see the war room lean forward. Upton Stout at slot 240 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The Armstrong pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a centerpiece for the ground game at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
No drama and no debate, Tyler Booker went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 6. It fills a real need, too.
Good price on Jack Bech in the 69th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Schwesinger. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value with a capital V on Charles Grant in No. 105, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Logan Brown at pick No. 145 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Andrew Armstrong at the 219th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at pick 222 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Upton Stout in pick 240 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
