The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jihaad Campbell, the No. 38 name on the board, in pick 78.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get a wrecking ball inside, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Tyler Booker at pick 47 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jihaad Campbell in No. 78, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Azareye'h Thomas in the 113th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jared Wilson in the 151st pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
