You build a draft on nights like this. Nick Nash had no business being available in the 188th overall pick, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Reaching for Frazier left real value on the table behind him. The Treylon Burks deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get protection for the quarterback at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Fair-plus on Omarion Hampton, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid sticker price for JT Tuimoloau in No. 51, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Xavier Watts in the 69th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ozzy Trapilo in the 76th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.

Chase Lundt at the 167th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nick Nash in Round 6, Pick 12 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Trevor Etienne at No. 217 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
