Start where it matters. The Commanders took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The cost of the Sinnott reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 2 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Morgan at the 36th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Darius Robinson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A conviction pick on Cooper Beebe at No. 67 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A big swing on Ben Sinnott at slot 99, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Christian Mahogany in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They jumped the gun on Dylan Laube, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Luke McCaffrey slid further than he should have, and pick 178 is lovely value for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Myles Harden in Round 7, Pick 2, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
