The tape said wait; the Bengals did not. Tre Harris went at the Round 5 slot, a good 26 picks before the board was ready.

They will answer for taking defensive back early while cornerback and interior defensive lineman went begging. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Carson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
