When a board-topper like Jihaad Campbell slides to the Round 3 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Bengals did not. No fireworks, but a solid B.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The trade work was a quiet net positive. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 17th overall pick they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
A quiet steal in pick No. 49: Harold Fannin Jr. for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Jihaad Campbell at No. 81 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Daylen Everette at the 117th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Somehow Jeffrey Bassa was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 15, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
