Green Bay Packers

A sensible, unshowy class lands the Packers a B-.

The Gabe Jacas selection is the head-turner. The Packers reached 99 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The Monheim value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Luther Burden III · WR · rank 19
In the 24th pick they get a go-to option on the outside. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.24 · Pick 56 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 54
Tyleik Williams in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
R3.24 · Pick 88 · Maxwell Hairston · CB · rank 97
The board had cheaper options than Maxwell Hairston at the 88th overall pick, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.24 · Pick 125 · Chris Paul Jr. · LB · rank 116
Chris Paul Jr. slipping to pick No. 125 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R5.22 · Pick 159 · Jacob Parrish · CB · rank 201
They reached a country mile for Jacob Parrish at slot 159, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.2 · Pick 177 · Gabe Jacas · LB-EDGE · rank 276
A big swing on Gabe Jacas at pick 177, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R7.21 · Pick 237 · Jonah Monheim · C · rank 211
Circle this one: Jonah Monheim at pick No. 237 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.34 · Pick 250 · Justin Walley · CB · rank 277
Justin Walley in slot 250 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
