Call it larceny. Tyler Owens sat on the board until pick No. 252, and the Chiefs did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in slot 64, with Xavier Worthy worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They read the board right and Khyree Jackson was the payoff at No. 95. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
McKinnley Jackson in pick 131 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Cody Schrader at Round 5, Pick 22 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board fumbled Brennan Jackson all the way to the 172nd pick, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Owens at pick No. 252 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
