The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Charles Turner III at slot 245 regardless, 52 picks early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Jones to cover a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Amarius Mims at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Nubin in slot 41, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No edge and no loss on Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 26; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They jumped the gun on Christian Mahogany, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Brenden Rice at pick 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value with a capital V on Elijah Jones in No. 126, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A premium they did not need to pay, Ty'Ron Hopper a notch or two before his time. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
They paid up for Caedan Wallace at pick 202 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They went early on Dominique Hampton in No. 219, and the value did not follow. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.

They let Bub Means come to them and pounced at the Round 7 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
